#45: to lose one’s virginity
I have never understood the wording of “losing your virginity”. It implies virginity is a thing that you have, but it’s only talking about something you haven’t done before, usually sex.
The most creepy usage of this is by people who think virginity is beautiful or a gift from god. A gift in the form of something you haven’t done yet? This is a mightily shitty gift, requiring no effort from whoever gave it to you.
